Townwide Parade Coming Up as Part of “America250 New Canaan” Celebration
On Saturday, June 27 at 9:30 a.m. the America250 New Canaan Parade will step off from the Lumberyard Lot on Elm Street and proceed along the parade route (Elm to South Avenue) ending at Saxe Middle school. Best viewing will be along the sidewalks of South Avenue from Elm Street to farm Road.
Patriotically decorated floats and bicycles, colonial attired local groups, vintage cars, Shriner cars, marching bands, and fife & drum corps will be featured.
Gather your neighborhood, club or group to come watch this historic parade.
No modern-day political messages are allowed as the Town honors the founding of our nation in 1776. All participating minors must be accompanied by an adult. No e-Bikes allowed.
Rain date is scheduled for Sunday, June 28 beginning at 1 p.m.
Coincidentally, 2026 marks the 225th anniversary of New Canaan’s incorporation in 1801. As part of America’s semiquincentennial celebration, the New Canaan events are highlighting the town’s history, civic leadership and enduring patriotic spirit.
