Leveraging Social Media To Drive Foot Traffic – Panel Discussion

Chamber Chats · Inaugural Event

Four local entrepreneurs share what’s actually working — and how you can put it to work for your business.

Your customers are on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok right now — deciding where to shop, eat, and spend. The question is whether they’re finding you.

On June 29th, the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce hosts the inaugural Chamber Chats — a new educational series built for our members and the broader New Canaan business community. We’re launching with a topic we hear about constantly: how to use social media to bring people through your door.

We’ve assembled a panel of four local entrepreneurs who are doing this well. They’ll share their strategies, their missteps, and the results they’re seeing — in plain language, with practical takeaways you can act on.

Whether you’ve been putting off social media for years or you’re already posting and wondering why it isn’t converting, this evening is for you.

Meet the Panelists

Jackie Fucigna

Owner  ·  No. 299  ·  @no299blog

Jackie founded No. 299, a curated lifestyle boutique with locations in Fairfield, New Canaan, and Old Greenwich. With nearly 19,000 Instagram followers built over more than a decade, she has made social media a cornerstone of how she connects with customers and drives people into her stores. Her account reads exactly like her shops feel — warm, personal, and full of things you didn’t know you needed.

Dr. Jennifer Stewart

Founder  ·  Look New Canaan  ·  @looknewcanaan

Dr. Stewart is the founder of Look New Canaan, an eyewear studio and optometry practice on Forest Street. An internationally recognized speaker, writer, and consultant with nearly 20 years in business and healthcare, she has spent years helping other practices grow through strategic marketing and social media — and then did a cold start on her own business right here in New Canaan. She brings both the theory and the real-world proof.

Dr. Elle de Moll

Founder  ·  Elite Dermatology Physicians  ·  @elitedermatologyphysicians

Dr. de Moll is a board-certified dermatologist, dermatopathologist, and the founder of Elite Dermatology Physicians in downtown New Canaan. A Castle Connolly Top Doctor and New Canaan resident, she has used social media to build trust, educate her community, and grow an independent practice in a competitive and rapidly consolidating field. In her first year, her team diagnosed more than 200 skin cancers — and social media has been part of how patients found her.

Daniel Reardon

Founder  ·  DRs. ORDERS Baking Co.  ·  @drs_ordersbakingco

Daniel founded DRs. ORDERS Baking Co., a Connecticut-based luxury baking brand rooted in New York nostalgia and the art of entertaining at home. Before launching the brand, he worked as a social media and digital marketing manager for celebrity chefs and hospitality groups in Manhattan. He has built nearly 19,000 Instagram followers for a brand with no traditional storefront — meaning social media is his entire shop window. He knows how this works, and he’ll show you.

Smiirl Counter Giveaway: All registered attendees will be entered to win a Smiirl counter — a Wi-Fi connected display that sits in your store or office and shows your live social media follower count in real time. It’s social proof you can put on your counter. One lucky attendee wins it at the end of the evening.

After the panel, we’ll move to the library’s terrace for light refreshments and open networking. It’s a great opportunity to keep the conversation going with the panelists and connect with other local business owners.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required. When you sign up, you’ll answer a few quick questions about your current social media presence — this helps our panelists understand the room and tailor their insights to where you actually are.
