On April 27, 2021 the Town of New Canaan implemented a new mobile payment app called PayByPhone which can be used in all of our Town’s municipal lots.

PayByPhone Parking is an easy-to-use mobile, contactless parking payment option and here’s how it works…

Park in one of the Town lots, enter the space number, your license plate number and the amount of time you expect to be parked into the mobile app which is easily downloaded through the Apple Store or Google Play.  That’s it!  Off you go!  Each of our municipal lots has signage throughout the lot on how to Park and Pay using PayByPhone.  Each lot is location specific and have their own location number.  Just create your account, enter the information required and enjoy your time in town.

Don’t have a smartphone? Sign up at paybyphone.com and then call the toll-free number posted in the PayByPhone location to start your parking session.

The app works on iPhone, Android, and Blackberry devices.

The app is free but you do need to sign up for the service.  You will need to provide the license plate number(s) of your vehicle(s) and credit card information during the sign-up process.  The price for parking can vary by location; just like at parking meters.  Parking rates will be presented to app users.  If you choose to park in the location, the parking charge will be posted to your credit card. No coins are needed!

If you find yourself running later than expected, just extend your parking session using your smartphone!

Never worry about running out of time, PayByPhone can send a reminder five minutes before your parking session ends.  Reminders are optional; carrier rates may apply.
