At Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, we believe that homeownership is about more than just the houses we build; it’s about fostering financial stability and enhancing the quality of life in the Western Connecticut area. Affordable housing attracts families and individuals while promoting economic and civic growth within our communities.
As a self-funded affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, our mission is to raise as much support as possible to help those in need of a hand up into homeownership. We provide opportunities for hardworking families to live in simple, decent homes that they can afford and maintain. Through the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of local businesses who donate materials, we construct homes sold below market value with affordable mortgages to qualifying families.
In addition to building affordable housing, we offer free financial literacy workshops for the community and provide free home safety repairs for qualified seniors and veterans, helping them age in place comfortably in their own homes.
