My name is Rachel Hartong and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 21 years of experience in the Public School System. I am excited to announce the opening of my private practice, Hartong Wellness & Consulting. I am currently accepting new clients and offer both in person and telehealth appointments. My office is conveniently located in downtown New Canaan.

I am a dedicated Clinical Social Worker and Behavior Analyst committed to supporting adolescents, adults and families with a variety of social, emotional, behavioral and educational concerns. My focus is on empowering my clients to navigate their challenges and achieve their goals. I believe in embracing every opportunity for growth and connection through open communication and collaboration in a safe environment. In my practice, I approach therapy from a strengths perspective and with a compassionate and non-judgmental mindset. I use a variety of approaches depending on the individualized needs and goals of each client. Interventions are drawn from several theoretical perspectives, including but not limited to: CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused and SPACE. In addition to my LCSW, I am also a Licensed Behavioral Analyst (LBA) and hold certifications in Special Education Transition to Adulthood and Applied Behavior Analysis. I offer a variety of services depending on client needs, including individual mental health counseling, social skills coaching, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)-based guidance for parents, educational and behavioral consulting, and guidance through the Special Education Transition to Adulthood process.

What sets me apart from my fellow mental healthcare providers is the diversity of my professional repertoire, including my 21 years of experience working in the Pubic School System, my dual licensure in Clinical Social Work and Behavior Analysis, and my additional training and certification in SPACE and Transition to Adulthood.
