Try Anyway Creative Writing Workshop for Kids (Spring 2026)

Try Anyway Creative Writing Workshop (Grades 4-7) – Now Registering for Spring 2026!

Calling all creative writers in grades 4-7! Created by award-winning filmmaker and comedy writer Claire Ayoub (Empire Waist, Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls), Try Anyway Creative Writing Workshops are designed to build kids’ creative confidence through community.

Each workshop, students will receive a creative challenge for the day (inspired by movies, music, art, and more!), write, and then share their works in progress with their peers.

Specifically designed to support tweens battling perfectionism and self-doubt, Claire encourages her students to take big creative swings, support each other by sharing their works in progress, and — when perfectionism comes calling — try anyway.

Cost: $350 ($35/class). $200 option available for financial need. Open to all kids in Fairfield County!
