Martha Graham Dance Company Celebrates 100 Years

Experience the revolutionary spirit of American modern dance in a performance that celebrates two historic milestones: the Martha Graham Dance Company’s 100th anniversary and our national America 250 commemoration. There will be two identical performances, one at 5:30pm and one at 7:00pm. “Mother of Modern Dance” Martha Graham (1894–1991) is a 20th-century icon, revolutionizing dance by creating a new, expressive physical language based on emotional intensity and grounded movement. She is often compared to artistic giants such as Picasso, Stravinsky, and Frank Lloyd Wright for her impact, and the dance company she founded in 1926 continues today.
