Jean Jacobs Gallery Presents: ‘In Between’ A Group Exhibition

New Canaan, CT— Jean Jacobs Gallery is pleased to present In Between, a cross current selection of historical and contemporary art that expresses an almost surreal moment of experience in the space defined by the coexistence of the two idioms.

Collected works by School of Paris masters Marc Chagall and Salvador Dali, are simultaneously exhibited with established artists such as Victor Vasarely, Donald Sultan, and Roy Lichtenstein. Curated by Jacob Herman, these dignified artists are interlaced with contemporary gallery painters, Aesther Chang, Alexandra Squire, Sophia Jortner, Michael DesRosiers, Erik Minter, and John Zoller. This intoxicating mix of artists reflect common threads of color and concept within a dreamscape where time and circumstance are suspended. Focal dots float from one work to the next, similarly colors appear connecting compositions only to fade away to resurgent memory.

In the world of In Between, everything is at once present and then found in echo. The presented artworks find their own footing, but having done so, their self-identity is soon surrendered to a complex cocktail of interaction pervading the space between them.
