Frotage: Explorations in Texture
March 29, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
$15
Learn about the art of frottage, a technique of taking a rubbing from an uneven surface to form the basis of a work of art. Initially developed in 1925 by the Surrealist artist Max Ernst, this “automatic” method of creative production was inspired by his fascination with ancient wood flooring. The results can either be left as it is or used as the basis for further exploration.
No experience necessary.
