Explore the Universe with Astronomer Kevin Manning
April 25, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeBefore this summer’s total solar eclipse occurs, learn about the mysteries of the universe with astronomer Kevin Manning, speaking at New Canaan Library on Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Kevin Manning will present a virtual journey throughout the cosmos with his talk, The Universe: An All American Total Solar Eclipse. Learn about the mysteries of eclipses and other celestial events before this summer’s total eclipse, when the moon will pass between the Earth and the sun. Following the indoor presentation, weather permitting, attendees are invited to go outdoors to view celestial objects in the sky (such as the ice crystal rings of Saturn, craters on the Moon) through a powerful hand-crafted telescope. This event is open to all ages; please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
Kevin Manning is an astronomer, author, and former consultant to NASA. Diverse audiences across America find a refreshing escape into galaxies beyond their own as Manning’s Look Up to the Stars programs consistently ignite curiosity and inquiry.
