Connecticut Stage Company is once again bringing Broadway stars back to New Canaan for their second show this season with the hilarious musical: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!
In association with New Canaan Library, CSC will present the musical on April 5 at 7pm & April 6 at 2pm at New Canaan Library. Tickets are $40 for general admission and $60 for premium seating. CSC shows have always sold out a week in advance, so be sure to get your tickets today!
Spelling Bee, a riotous musical complete with audience participation, is a delightful den of comedic genius. This fast-paced crowd pleaser follows an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents as they vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.
