66th Annual Art of the Northeast Exhibition – Opening Reception

Silvermine Arts Center 1037 Silvermine Road, New Canaan, CT

Art of the Northeast, Silvermine’s signature juried show, now in its 66th year, creates each year a new map of the themes, explorations, and preoccupations of the contemporary art world. 2016 AoNE curator Steven Sergiovanni is an art advisor & curator based in New York City and a former director of Mixed Greens, a gallery established in the late 1990s to support emerging artists so they could gain a wider audience. Mixed Greens was known for its approachable and inventive presence in the art world. Sergiovanni will immerse himself in the work of practicing artists from Maine to D.C. as he brings his refreshing sensibilities and 20 years of gallery experience to Art of the Northeast. The 2016 competition is now open. The deadline for submissions is May 27th, and this year’s exhibition will open on July 9th from 6pm-8pm and will run through August 20th.
