In Taste of the Town Stroll

Thank you to all the stores, restaurants and strollers who made the 2016 Taste of the Town Stroll a success!

Over 400 residents and visitors came to downtown New Canaan on a beautiful late August evening for a “food-raiser” for the New Canaan Food Pantry. Participants could choose to bring food from their own pantry, or go to Walter Stewart’s Market where they could purchase a pre-selected “grocery bag” which Stewarts would deliver to the food pantry. After making their donation strollers received a map showing them which stores were hosting festive activities and culinary delights. Their mission was to visit at least 12 of the designated stores and bring us back their Maps which had been marked off at each location. Over 350 maps came back and those strollers names were entered to win prizes.

At the end of the evening the host stores and restaurants met many new customers, the strollers had a great time and some even walked away with prizes. Most importantly New Canaan’s food pantry’s shelves were stocked up so that families in need would have a nice healthy selection to choose from as the school year began.

Save the date for Next years Stroll…. Thursday, August 24th, 2017!
