On Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce hosted the 51st Annual Village Fair and Sidewalk Sale. Thousands of bargain hunters and their families came downtown for the fun. With over 125 participating merchants and vendors there was plenty of entertainment, food and, of course, bargains galore for everyone. We added a day for the Early Bird Shopping on Friday this year, and from what we hear that it was a huge success.
Thanks to Vendors and Attendees, as well as New Canaan Police, Fire, Public Works and the First Selectman’s Office.
The fair, like any other big event, takes months and months of planning. The Chamber would like to thank our lead sponsor; William Raveis Real Estate. Thanks also to People’s United Bank, Karl Chevrolet, New Canaan YMCA, Bankwell, New Canaan Parking Dept., New Canaan Police, New Canaan Health Dept., the Pop Up Park Committee, New Canaan Advertiser and Newcanaanite.com for their support of the event.
A round of applause also goes out to the many folks and organizations that made this day possible including the New Canaan Chamber board, the team of Karl Chevrolet, the New Canaan Town Band, The School of Rock, Cluster Funk, and Pennyweights for their donation of a booth to a non-profit, which was donated to the New Canaan Fire Company No. 1. Last but not least, we owe Mose Saccary, Tiger Mann and the crew at Public Works a huge amount of gratitude for all their help and for having downtown all cleaned up in little over an hour after the event was over.
Finally, we would like to extend our appreciation to all the merchants and vendors who have committed to join the Chamber and support our events. Together we are making a difference and it shows.
