Assistant to the Executive Director


Job Description

We seek an Assistant to the ED who will play a crucial role in supporting the Museum’s operations and strategic initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, appreciates the importance of serving our members and visitors, and possesses a demonstrated interest in museum work.
– Assist with the development and implementation of marketing strategies
– Support fundraising and development efforts, including data entry, donor acknowledgements, and grant writing support
– Assist with exhibit preparation
– Collaborate with staff and volunteers to plan and execute educational and community outreach programs
– Assist with archival tasks, including cataloging, digitalization, and preservation of historical materials
– Assist the Executive Director with daily operations
– 4-year college degree or equivalent
– Excellent organizational skills
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) required
– Strong written and verbal communications
– Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
– Ability to work independently
– Marketing, development and/or curatorial experience a plus
– Prior museum experience preferred
– $38,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience
– Housing provided as part of compensation if desired
– Generous Paid Time Off
