Soundscapes from Latino America with INTEMPO

Presented in partnership with the organization INTEMPO, New Canaan Library presents a vibrant concert that celebrates Latinidad. Soundscapes from Latino America showcases INTEMPO’s talented teaching artists and advanced students, performing the diverse musical traditions of Latin America. This annual event promises high-level artistry in a cultural celebration not to be missed.
Founded in 2011, INTEMPO provides high-quality music education to children predominantly from immigrant backgrounds and from communities underrepresented in the arts. Its mission is to engage, educate, and enrich the lives of children by making classical and intercultural music relevant, accessible, and inclusive, and to help close the achievement gap by developing their musical, social-emotional, and interpersonal skills. INTEMPO has been recognized at the local and national level for the quality of its programs and its efforts to promote arts and cultural equity.
