The New Canaan Land Trust, The Friends of Bristow, and the Town of New Canaan, in partnership with the New Canaan Library, are thrilled to host a special weekend of events celebrating bird conservation, natural history, and community heritage in New Canaan. This extraordinary occasion will feature presentations by the nation’s foremost birding authority, David Sibley, and the centennial celebration of the Bristow Bird Sanctuary.
The weekend starts with the New Canaan Land Trust’s Annual Meeting at the New Canaan Library on Saturday, September 7th, at 2:30 PM. Meeting attendees will receive priority seating for David Sibley’s presentation, which will follow directly at 3:15 pm. David Sibley, renowned ornithologist and author, will provide a captivating talk on the experience of birds, offering unique insights into avian life. Following the presentation, at 4:15 pm, attendees are invited to a book signing and wine and cheese reception, where they can meet Mr. Sibley and have their books signed. Registration is free but required, and limited tickets are available.
