In keeping with the Chamber’s mission of “Connecting The Community With Commerce” this Calendar was created to allow member businesses and New Canaan based non-profits to promote their upcoming events to the public. The Community Calendar is a local resource for all residents and visitors and has quickly become one of the most visited pages on the site. Events can be submitted via the link below and will be reviewed and posted within 24-48 hours.

Yale’s Science in the News Presents – The Detector Detectives: Looking at Light through Cosmos, Cameras, & Cones

April 25 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

The human eye can detect millions of colors, yet there are many features in the universe that we cannot physically see. In the April edition of Science in the News, we will address a range of biological and manmade detectors used to capture these hidden features, from invisible light to the tiniest particles. If you have ever wondered why some of us are colorblind, how a tiny camera in your phone captures a high-quality image, or how scientists identify previously unknown forms of matter, join us in uncovering the invisible, the fast, and the unimaginably small with The Detector Detectives!
