Yale Science Communication Presents “How to Build an Earth: Just Add Water,” via Webinar from New Canaan Library

New Canaan Library welcomes back Yale Science Communication, presenting a discussion via live webinar that prompts one to ponder one of science’s greatest mysteries. Humans have imagined extraterrestrial life for centuries, but life on Earth is still the only kind we know of. What makes us unique, and how did we get here? Tune into the Science in the News’ talk, “How to Build An Earth: Just Add Water,” where three Yale scientists will discuss what is known about the origins of living things on our planet. Participants will learn about the first moments in Earth’s history, where to find the raw materials required for life, and how the humble water molecule makes it all possible.
Yale Science Communication is an organization of graduate students and postdoctoral individuals passionate about science communication, education, and advocacy. They deliver talks on current topics in science, ranging from the microbiome to the feasibility of a real-life Jurassic Park. Their goal is to make science fun and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. and provide people with a better understanding of the science underpinning many of the complex issues in the news every day. Speaking on this topic will be Daniel Konstantinovsky, Garrett Levine, and Victor Olmos.
