Chicago’s Bros Do Prose Actors to Hold Creative Performance Workshop in New Canaan
The Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan, host to the Summer Theatre of New Canaan, will offer a master acting class intensive entitled Feeding The Creative Fire. It is presented by Ella Raymont and Omen Sade’ who are professional actors and playwrights and founders of the acclaimed Bros Do Prose theatre company based in Chicago.
The two 3 hour master classes designed to guide students through the process of adaptation and devising and creating original work will be held on Saturday September 28. One for middle school students and one for High school students. It is designed to spark the student’s creative impulse through a dynamic blend of physical theater, acting techniques, storytelling exercises and collaborative work.
For the past three years the Summer Theatre of New Canaan has featured the Bros Do Prose team of Raymont and Sade’ in its Theatre for Young Audience series each summer and tours their shows to schools across CT. “The Conservatory is so excited to have these two extraordinary performers share their knowledge and techniques with our students” says Melody Libonati, Conservatory Director and Artistic Director of the Summer Theatre of New Canaan. She adds, “This workshop will help build life skills in the creative process.”
Program is open to all middle and high school age children on September 28 at the Performing Arts Conservatory rehearsal studios located at 70 Pine Street in New Canaan.
