February 27, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

New Canaan Library is pleased to welcome Jennifer Yates, presenting a unique program on how to add positive energy to your home through plants and flowers. The event takes place on Wednesday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.

Did you know that the location of a favorite plant might impact its growth? And, that keeping an aloe plant in your bedroom may help you sleep better? Come and learn how to add plants to your home to increase the flow of positive energy, or, as it is often termed, plant life force. Jennifer will cover indoor herbs and their uses, how to take care of indoor plants, how to incorporate them into interiors, their meaning and ideas on adding flowers to the home.

Jennifer Yates has an ecological garden design and horticulture background from Brown University, and a Bachelor of Interior Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design, along with several more years of study at New York School of Botanical Garden. Her company, Yates Garden Design, is certified organic by Northeast Organic Farming Association. She presents on a wide variety of topics including native plants, plantscaping, sustainable, and organic garden topics at Libraries and Botanical Gardens. Jennifer grew up in New Canaan and received the Golden Trowel Award in Greenwich for the best urban garden.
