One Book New Canaan Welcomes Dr. Andrew Mack, Speaking on the Rainforest and Animal Life of Papua New Guinea

March 11, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

New Canaan Library’s One Book town read of Lily King’s Euphoria continues with exciting programming to illuminate the book’s focus. Join Professor Andrew Mack, an anthropological expert on Papua New Guinea, for two talks on the region. On Friday, March 10 he will speak on the Rainforests of Papua New Guinea, and return on Saturday, March 11 for his presentation Cassowaries and Other Animals of New Guinea. Both events will take place at 2 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
Learn about the beautiful rainforests of Papua New Guinea, the people who rely on it, the scientists who study it, and the forces that threaten it through Dr. Mack’s Friday, March 10 presentation.
On Saturday, March 11 Dr. Mack returns to speak on “Cassowaries and Other Animals of New Guinea,” with a venture into the strange, wondrous, and dangerous animal kingdom of Papua New Guinea, home of kangaroos that climb trees, the world’s largest butterfly, and a bird so beautiful that the “bird of paradise” flower was named after it.
