The Community Calendar is a local resource for all residents and visitors and has quickly become one of the most visited pages on the site. New Canaan Library and Staying Put in New Canaan present a talk in the Necessary Conversations series, a collaborative effort that addresses issues related to adult children and their aging parents. Preparing for Knee or Hip Replacement will be presented on Tuesday, November 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library’s Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org, or call Staying Put in New Canaan at 203-966-7762.
Knee and hip replacements have become common medical procedures as individuals age, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t factors to consider. Join Staying Put in New Canaan for a presentation by a panel of medical experts that will explain what to expect, and how best to prepare. Topics to be covered include: preparing for surgery, latest advances in joint replacement, what to expect during the recovery process, tips for a successful rehab, and the importance of patient advocacy.
Panelists are Jonathan L. Berliner, MD, hip and knee replacement specialist with Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS), Stacy Zajac, PT, physical therapist and rehabilitation supervisor, Waveny Home Care, and Amy Freyre, patient advocate. This event is free and open to the public; all are welcome to attend.
