Nature’s Best Hope: An Evening with Conservationist Doug Tallamy

March 3, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$15.

Renowned author, professor and researcher, Doug Tallamy, will speak on the topic of his recently published book, “Nature’s Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation that Starts in Your Yard.” Tallamy is best known for the national conversation he sparked more than a decade ago about the link between healthy ecosystems and human wellbeing. His first book, “Bringing Nature Home,” emphasized the irrefutably significant tie between native plant species, native insects and the rest of the food chain essential for a healthy world. The event takes place on March 3, 2020, 7:30 pm New Canaan Country School, 635 Frogtown Road, New Canaan, CT.

“Nature’s Best Hope” speaks to Tallamy’s vision for a grassroots, homegrown approach to conservation. Tallamy advocates to homeowners everywhere that they turn their properties into conservation corridors, providing habitat for wildlife.

The New Canaan Pollinator Pathway, comprised of ten organizations — Grace Farms Foundation, The Glass House, New Canaan Beautification League, New Canaan Garden Club, New Canaan Land Trust, New Canaan Library, New Canaan Nature Center, New Canaan Department of Public Works and Plant New Canaan – is sponsoring the well-known conservationist’s visit to New Canaan. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 3 at New Canaan Country School Auditorium, starting at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7:00 pm). Tickets are $15. Elm Street Books will have copies of “Nature’s Best Hope” available for purchase and a book signing will follow the program.
