“Making Wine, Cider & Mead: A Beginner’s Workshop,” is Live Webinar Presented by New Canaan Library

August 19, 2020 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

For those who’ve considered learning how to make their own wine, cider or mead, but didn’t know where to begin, New Canaan Library offers the solution from local resident and winemaking hobbyist John Kriz. The webinar will be presented on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:30pm EST. Please register at newcanaanlibrary.org for Zoom sign in information.
An information packet will be provided upon registration to allow attendees to follow along with John’s presentation notes and take notes of their own.
In his webinar discussion, John Kriz brings viewers into his own kitchen – where the winemaking magic happens – and explains how, with the right equipment, home winemaking (as well as cider and mead) can be inexpensive and easy. The program will provide an overview of the kind of equipment needed, some key vocabulary, websites and books to help deepen one’s wine-making knowledge, and the important steps involved in beginner winemaking.
Long-time New Canaan resident John J Kriz is an award-winning home winemaker and has been making wine for over a decade. He is also a beekeeper and candlemaker.
