The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum and The Stamford Art Association are issuing a Call for Artists for a juried exhibition titled, Envisioning Space: Architecture Through the Ages.
The deadline to submit is June 26, 2021 by midnight. This juried exhibition will be on view at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, 295 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT on Oct. 20 through Dec. 19, 2021 with an artist reception on Oct. 28th, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Artists can enter their work by visiting: EntryThingy www.entrythingy.com/d=stamfordartassociation.org#show=7866 as the jurying process will be conducted online. Only hand delivered work will be accepted and must be wired and ready for hanging.
Open to all artists, this exhibition will be juried by Artist/Designer and Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum Trustee Gail Ingis, ASID, and Architect Robert Cohen, AIA, who will select approximately 30 works from digital submissions. Cash prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the jurors.

The collaboration of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum and The Stamford Art Association, downtown Stamford’s “last gallery standing” celebrating its 50th year, welcomes artists from various media to exhibit work that shows how architecture evolves through time and how it influences society. The exhibition explores artists’ interpretations about diversity of space, structural elements, and buildings of the past and the present, showing the impact architecture has in their creative process and how they integrate these elements into their representational or abstract work.

The Stamford Art Association and the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will welcome entries in the following categories: all fine arts media, watercolor, oil, acrylic, drawing, pastel, mixed media, photography, monotype, monoprint, and prints. Due to space restrictions, no sculptures or artwork that cannot be hung will be accepted.
Artists will be notified of acceptance by July 17, 2021 on The Stamford Art Association’s website www.stamfordartassociation.org under Opportunities, Call for Artists, Learn More.
