DESCRIPTION:Calling all creative kids in Grades 1-7! \nJoin award-winning filmmaker and comedy writer Claire Ayoub (Empire Waist\, The GynoKid) for a series of week-long summer camps in Creative Writing\, Screenwriting\, and Directing. \n\nTHIS WEEK’S FOCUS: DIRECTING\nThe first level of Claire’s joy-filled directing workshop\, students will learn ways to achieve their creative vision through the different departments in film (costuming\, production design\, music\, working with actors)\, as well as practice the leadership skills and empathy necessary to run a set. Great training for both film and theater.\n\nCapped at 10 students per camp\, Claire’s programming is designed give students hands-on creative experience and develop tools to navigate perfectionism and self-doubt. DESCRIPTION:Spirit Squad Summer Camp\, in partnership with the nationally ranked Sacred Heart University Dance Team and NC Dance Clinics\, will be held August 5–7 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at New Canaan Country School. Open to dancers entering grades 1–8\, the three-day camp gives campers the chance to learn from Division I college dancers and coaches while improving their skills in pom\, jazz\, and hip hop. Campers will work on technique\, including turns\, jumps\, kicks\, flexibility\, and across-the-floor progressions\, take part in team-building activities\, and get an inside look at what it’s like to be on a college dance team.
