In keeping with the Chamber’s mission of “Connecting The Community With Commerce” this Calendar was created to allow member businesses and New Canaan based non-profits to promote their upcoming events to the public. The Community Calendar is a local resource for all residents and visitors and has quickly become one of the most visited pages on the site. Events can be submitted via the link below and will be reviewed and posted within 24-48 hours.

Merriam -Webster defines “interplay” as the ways in which two or more things, groups, etc. affect each other when they happen or exist together. As the title of New Canaan Library’s next art exhibition, “Interplay” perfectly defines the balance and juxtaposition of the works of exhibiting artists Karen Dow and Lori Glavin. The exhibition runs November 9 through December 31, 2017. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 9 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Curtis Gallery; all are welcome to attend.
Selected to show together by curators familiar with the work of both, the artists were unknown to each other. Upon meeting, Dow and Glavin made the decision to shape the exhibition by intentionally exploring the interplay of their individual works, rather than merely exhibiting at the same time. Featuring prints, collages and works of mixed media, “Interplay” is a thoughtful and joyous result of that collaboration.
“Interplay” is sponsored by the Art Committee of New Canaan Library, and is curated by Cynthia MacCollum and Micaela Porta. For additional information please contact Christle Chumney at 203.594.5075 or visit newcanaanlibrary.org.
