International Author Nadia Hashimi to Speak at Library and Saxe

New Canaan Library is very pleased to welcome bestselling author Nadia Hashimi for two days of exceptional book talks for both adults and students on October 19th and 20th. Ms. Hashimi, author of the international bestseller, The Pearl That Broke Its Shell, has just released a new adult novel, A House Without Windows, as well as a critically acclaimed first young adult novel, One Half From the East.
The Library will hold an adult author talk on October 20th and has arranged for a special presentation at Saxe Middle School for all students on October 19th.
On Thursday, October 20th Ms. Hashimi will appear at the Library, to introduce her life and work and speak about her many roles and experiences. As an American of Afghan heritage, parent of four, author and pediatrician, she will speak about her latest novel as well as her experiences as a writer, healthcare professional and advocate for women and refugees. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a light reception; Hashimi will hold a Q & A session at the conclusion of her talk.
Copies of A House Without Windows and her other novels will be available for purchase at the Library event, courtesy of Elm Street Books. Please register for this event online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
