“Hearts of Freedom” – A New Canaan Community Juneteenth Celebration

June 19, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

New Canaan-based Stand Together Against Racism, S.T.A.R., invites you to a free-to-attend Juneteenth Community Celebration on Monday, June 19th, 2023, on the New Canaan Museum and Historical Society lawn from 1 pm until 5 pm. We will have local band, The Misfits, wowing the crowd with their outstanding vocals and instrumentals. Highly esteemed artist, 5iveFingaz, will be leading us in creating a community graffiti mural. You can bring your own food or you can purchase delicious soul food from Miss Thelma’s Restaurant, which will be on site. The Farmer’s Grind will be selling their red velvet cake for the weekend of Juneteenth, while we will be providing delectable homemade red velvet cupcakes and traditional hibiscus tea to all attendees. You will not want to miss this exciting event! Walk-ins are welcome, but we would greatly appreciate registrations so we can get an estimate of attendees. You can register for this event by going to www.star-ct.org. All are welcome – fun for all ages – and ample parking!
