This is the perfect way to kick off the New Year! Our Strong Savvy Women “Divorce Success Stories” event on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 will feature five successful women who reinvented themselves after divorce. They will share tips on overcoming emotional hurdles, juggling work and children, and setting career goals to achieve financial independence.
The panel will be moderated by Amy Polacko, a divorce coach, journalist, and founder of Strong Savvy Women – a group dedicated to the education and support of single women. We are thrilled to have the following businesswomen on our Divorce Success Stories panel sharing their advice and inspirational stories:

Attorney Sharon Oberst DeFala will be speaking at the beginning of our event about her family law practice and the necessity for estate planning. DeFala describes herself as “a divorce attorney with a heart” and has been helping Connecticut families through this process since 1992.
The event fee is $20 payable through Eventbrite. Register in advance and bring a friend – married friends are invited as well. We would love to see you in person but virtual tickets to watch on Zoom are also available (a link will be emailed to you the day of the event).
Strong Savvy Women meets monthly providing education and support for single, divorced, divorcing or widowed women in our area. Divorce coach Amy Polacko of Freedom Warrior (www.freedomwarrior.info) founded the group to prevent single women from feeling alone. As a coach, she empowers women during/after a divorce or toxic relationship and helps them create an amazing next chapter. Strong Savvy Women is under this umbrella and its Facebook community is free for all women, no matter what stage they are at in the process.
The group’s focus is moving forward – by supporting each other, learning from expert speakers and having fun. Past event topics have included Jennifers’ Law, financial tips, managing the emotional rollercoaster of divorce, co-parenting, insider tips from divorce attorneys, self-love and real estate for single women. Attorney Rosemarie Ferrante of the Divorce Mediation Center of Fairfield County, LLC and Alison Hamilton of Eagle Ridge Investments LLC are on the group’s advisory board.
