Grit ‘N Wit Obstacle Dash 5k & Kids’ Obstacle Run
October 23, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
The New Canaan YMCA presents the Grit ‘N Wit Obstacle Dash 5k and Kids’ Run taking place on Sunday, October 23 in Waveny Park!
Enjoy a fun day outside with family and friends while honoring our servicemen and women and supporting two great causes! All proceeds support the summer camp financial assistance program at the Y and The Little Warriors Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing meaningful experiences and adventures to the children of Navy SEALS.
The Kids Run begins at 11 AM and is a short run with kid-friendly obstacles appropriate for ages 5-9.
The 5k obstacle dash begins at 11:30 AM and is open to ages 10+ and is the first obstacle course where brain meets brawn! You and your teammates will be working together to take on 17 physical obstacles and mental challenges throughout Waveny Park! Put together a team, run/walk as a family, or complete as an individual!
This event is designed to be fun so you can go as fast or as slow as you want. If a physical challenge seems too daunting, feel free to go around it. For those teams that are looking to compete, we will be keeping track of time and awarding medals to the winning teams. After you finish, stick around for food and music!
Registration is available in advance online and at the event. Online advance registration closes at 10PM on Saturday, October 22. Online registration can be completed by visiting www.newcanaanymca.org/gritnwit
