Because of incredible developments in technology, the wide availability of information on the Internet, increasing lifespans due to medical innovation, and more, we are more capable today than ever before of manipulating and shaping our lives. But we are also more at a loss for the ends and purposes to which we should do so. This has a profound effect on our kids and youth, who grow up in our fast-paced and changing world frequently adrift from the deep things that make life meaningful, pouring themselves instead into achievement for achievement’s sake and struggling to understand the real purpose of their lives.
