Coyote experts to speak in New Canaan

April 8, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Coyotes will be the topic of a seminar to be held at the New Canaan Library on Saturday, April 8th from 2-4pm, in an event organized by Wildlife in Crisis of Weston, CT and New Canaan Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm, and sponsored by Prai Beauty of New Canaan.
This thought provoking seminar will begin at 2:00 pm at the New Canaan library. Dr. Jon Way– the foremost coyote biologist in New England– will speak for 1.5 hours on Eastern coyote population, genetics and behavior. There will be time set aside for question and answer. Following Dr. Way’s talk, trapping expert Bill Manetti will give a half hour presentation on the practice of leg-hold trapping, and the horrific impact this device can have on wildlife.
If you have concerns or interest in the coyotes that live amongst us, you will not want to miss this rare opportunity to hear the real facts about this all too often persecuted species.
