December 10, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Free
New Canaan Library is pleased to welcome back the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, presenting a lively look at the many sounds and shapes of percussion instruments. Children and their families are invited to learn about and have hands-on time with the different instruments. The program will be held in the Curtis Gallery on Saturday, December 10 at 1 pm. The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra will also present excerpts from their Joys of the Season Holiday Concert of December 17. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
Each instrument- snare drums, triangle, tambourine, conga, woodblock, maracas, xylophone/ bells – can be used for rhythm and many have a range of notes, and produce many recognizable sounds and tones. Families with children ages 5-11 are welcome to enjoy this fun, hour-long program that ends with a “petting zoo,” allowing youngsters the chance to make their own Music!
The program is generously sponsored by the New Canaan Community Foundation in partnership with the New Canaan Library and the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra.
