First Selectman Rob Mallozzi has issued a Proclamation dedicating May 11th as Horizons Day in New Canaan recognizing the tremendous impact that the Horizons Student Enrichment Program has had on the lives of New Canaan residents and on the thousands of low income students it has served in our region. Morning Joe Music, the nine piece band led by New Canaan resident and TV personality, Joe Scarborough, will be playing at South End on the evening of May 11th from 9-10:15 in support of Horizons hosted at New Canaan Country School. Horizons was founded at New Canaan Country School over 54 years ago to provide a summer learning opportunity for students less fortunate. What began as a summer program serving 20 students has grown into a national movement, that will serve 4,500 students this summer at 50 sites around the country, including six in Connecticut alone.
