Straight Talk about College Binge Drinking

Haze Documentary Screening and Forum will be held on Wednesday April 22 at 6:30 pm in the Lamb Room at the New Canaan Library. This Movie screening for parents and their teens (grades 11-12) about College Binge Drinking and the devastating consequences that can result. This film tells the tragic story of a Greenwich resident who after entering his first year of college, got caught up in risky behaviors that ultimately ended his life. After the 36 minute documentary, a panel of experts will reflect on the story and entertain questions from the audience. This is a great way to get the conversation started between parents and their teens about the dangers of binge drinking whether it be in college or anywhere else. The Event is sponsored by Silver Hill Hospital and admission is free.

This event will provide vital information for parents and teens as they prepare for the college experience.

Easter Egg Hunt – To Be Held in NCHS Gym

Come join a New Canaan tradition at the 2015 Easter Egg Hunt! Held on March 28 @ 9:30 am – 11:00 am Note Updated Location – NCHS Gym

This magical experience takes place on the historic property and sprawling grounds of Waveny Park and includes 10,000 Easter Eggs, Mr. & Mrs. Bunny, the Dixie Land Band, bounce houses, bunny ears, face painting and lots and lots of cupcakes.

All proceeds benefit the Young Women’s League Giving Fund.

Concept Series: Mastermind Groups

The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend the first in a series of workshops designed to help entrepreneurs and owners of small companies grow their business. The interactive seminar will be held on Tuesday March 31 at 6pm at Halo Studios at 45 Grove Street. Registration fee for Chamber Members is $50 and $70 for non-members.

The Two Hour Session will be led by Rich Gee, a leading national business coach, who will introduce the concept of Mastermind Groups and explain how entrepreneurs and small business owners can set up and utilize Mastermind Groups to:

Library Kicks Off 2nd Annual One Book New Canaan with “Spirited” Speakeasy Event – New Date!

New Canaan Library invites you to get in on the fun as it kicks off One Book New Canaan, the community’s month-long exploration of Bill Bryson’s One Summer; America, 1927, by transforming the Lamb Room into a genuine Prohibition-era speakeasy on Thursday, March 25th from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. Tickets are $15, can be purchased online at newcanaanlibrary.org and will reveal the secret password that lets you start “putting on the Ritz.”
